Sa ginanap na webcast ng Industrial Technology Development Institute (ITDI) ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) na may temang “Backend Innovation gives new life to waste” kanilang ipinakita ang maraming maihahatid ng Modular Multi Industry Innovation Center (MMIC) o ang INNOHUB sa Pinas sa pag unlad ng industriya.
Sa pagbukas ng nasabing pasilidad sa punong tanggapan ng kagawaran sa Taguig, mismong sinaksihan ng kalihim ng kagawaran ng agham Secretary Fortunato T. de la Pena ang mga nilikhang food supplement tablets na gawa mula sa mga balat ng kalamansi, toothpaste at mouthwash na mula rin sa nasabing by-product.
Dahil sa mga nilikhang processing machines, iba-ibang produkto ang nagawa para sa lahat ng uri ng indutriya, kahit mga patapon ay magagawang kapaki-pakinabang dahil sa ITDI MMIC.
Ang MMIC ay may 3 pangunahing processing lines:
- Nuts and Seeds Oil Line
- Mix Blends and Powder Line
- Liquids and Emulsion Line
Dinaluhan ng mga opisyales ng kagawaran ng agham ang nasabing aktibidad kabilang sina ITDI Director Dr. Annabelle V. Briones na nagbigay ng pambungad na pananalita kasunod ang mga mensahe ni DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Pena, at Undersecretary for Research and Development Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara.
Si CED OIC Chief at Supervising SRS Engr. Apollo Victor O. Bawagan ang nagpaliwanag ng MMIC Primer AVP at pangkalahatang ideya na magagawa ng MMIC gayundin ang uri ng pakikipag-ugnayan. Kasunod na naglahad sina Supervising SRS Engr. Joseph Herrera sa Nut and Seed Oils line, Senior SRS Mr. Oliver C. Evangelista sa Mix Blend Powder line at FPD Chief Dr. Norberto G. Ambagan ang sa liquids and emulsions line at ang pangwakas na pananalita ay mula kay OIC Deputy Director for ATS and PMISD Chief Dr. Zorayda V. Ang.
Ang ITDI-DOST ay may iba’t ibang serbisyong ipinagkakaloob, ito ay ang mga sumusunod:
A. TESTING SERVICES
The Standards and Testing Division is composed of three distinct laboratories:
1. BIOLOGICAL LABORATORY
- Microbiology Section
- Pharmacology and Toxicology Section
- Entomology Section
2. CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
- Inorganic Chemistry Section
- Organic Chemistry Section
3. PHYSICAL AND PERFORMANCE TESTING LABORATORY
- Determines physical properties of materials, such as rubber and leather, plastics and polymers, engineering and construction materials, packaging materials, adhesives and sealants, office supplies and concrete;
- Conducts performance testing of products and load testing of construction and heavy equipment (e.g., crane, hoist, elevator, forklift, etc.)
Each laboratory is technically competent for the type of tests it undertakes which are conducted by competent staff using equipment satisfying test requirements and validated test methods.
B. OTHER TECHNICAL SERVICES
Formula of Conversion (FOC) – Determines the quality of imported raw materials needed to manufacturer different products for export and issues corresponding FOC certificates. It is one of the requirements for exports to avail tax incentives for the imported raw materials to be used in the manufacture of export products.
Pinatunayan lang ng ITDI-DOST na lahat ay kayang gawin gamit ang siyensya, teknolohiya at malikhaing pag-iisip ng tao sa industriya. Kaya hinihikayat ng ahensya ang pagtutulungan ng pamahalaan, pribadong sector lalo na mga negosyante at akademya sa iisang hangaring makamit ang minimithing industriyalisasyon upang umunlad ang bansa at iangat ang antas ng buhay ng mamamayang Pilipino.# Cathy Cruz
