The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of Nueva Vizcaya through its partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) would construct a Php 10-Million bridge to boost the lives of 1,013 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and other residents in the neighboring barangays of Barangay Wacal, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Dindi Tan said, during the groundbreaking ceremony, that the Wacal Bridge has a length of 20 linear meter with two (2) lane steel bridge and would be implemented under the “Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo” (TPKP) Project of the department.
“Through this project, our farmers will have an easier access in transporting and marketing their produce to various markets and trading centers. And apart from our farmers benefiting from this bridge, other residents of the adjacent communities would be relieved of the difficulty of travelling to long and rough routes in going to other places, especially the students when going to their schools when our lives will go back to normal,” Tan said.
Tan added that the project is targeted to be completed in 130 days, which could be used in time during the rainy season.
“Our ARBs are already looking forward for its completion because they could avoid the inconvenience of transporting their products during the rainy days. We should thank DAR Secretary Brother John Castriciones because this project is made possible through his leadership,” Tan said.
The groundbreaking activity was graced by Congresswoman Luisa Lloren Cuaresma, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya Mayor Eufemia Dacayo, Vice Mayor Philip Dacayo, Punong Barangay Janette Q. Cristobal, representatives from DPWH-Nueva Vizcaya and DAR Regional Office. #(Public Assistance and Media Relations Service, Department of Agrarian Reform)
