In support of Executive Order 124 of the Department of Agriculture which imposes price caps on select meat products for 60 days in Metro Manila, Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Easymart, Shopwise and The Marketplace stores implemented the prescribed price ceilings of PHP 270 per kilo for pork cuts of kasim and pique and PHP300 per kilo for liempo immediately upon its issuance. Dressed whole chicken is also priced at PHP 160 per kilo. The supermarket chain aims to roll out availability of these products to more stores in the coming weeks.
The price caps are being put in place in support of the government’s call for assistance in ensuring that such basic necessities are available to the general public. In line with Robinsons Retail’s focus on customer welfare and objective to become a retailer of choice, our supermarkets are some of the first to back government’s efforts to ease the burden of consumers, especially during these trying times.
“Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Easymart, The Marketplace and Shopwise remain committed to its customers in making sure products are available at reasonable prices. We continuously work with our partner vendors to find all possible means to fulfill this promise,” said Jody Gadia, Managing Director of Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc.’s Supermarket segment.
