DA 4A identifies validated sites for Urban Agriculture Program in Cavite

OIC-Field Operations Division Chief Engr. Redelliza A. Gruezo, together with agricultural program coordinating officers and/or their representatives, plan to finalize DA CALABARZON’s list of validated sites for the urban agriculture program, held at LARES Training Hall, in Lipa City, Batangas, on January 19, 2021.

This complies with implementing the Urban Agriculture Program, which is one of the productivity/enhancement projects under DA’s Stimulus Package that aims to accelerate the recovery and bolster the Philippine economy’s resilience.

The program beneficiaries are those in highly-urbanized areas willing to collaborate, such as local government units, state universities and colleges, non-government organizations, and other government institutions with community/urban gardens, hydroponics, mushroom production, and/or vertical farms.

The Program will provide seeds, seedlings, farm inputs, technical assistance in the operation and maintenance, capacity building and livelihood training, and marketing assistance, among others, in the said components.

CALABARZON has identified and validated and/or will validate seven sites in Cavite (cities of Imus, Bacoor, Trece Martires, General Trias, Tagaytay, and Dasmariñas), six in Laguna (cities of San Pedro, Biñan, Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao, Calamba, and San Pablo), four in Batangas (cities of Tanauan, Sto. Tomas, and Lipa; and Office of the City Veterinary and Agricultural Services in Batangas City), one in Rizal (Antipolo City), and two in Quezon (cities of Lucena and Tayabas). # # # (DA-RFO IVA, RAFIS)
