DA CALABARZON Corn Program turned over 100 bags of hybrid yellow corn seed worth P580,000 to members of the Farmers’ Association of Barangay Siain and the Barangay Magallanes Farmers’ Association, both in Buenavista, Quezon, on January 8, 2021.
The distribution is under the Regional Corn Seed Assistance Program, aiming to increase CALABARZON corn production by providing farmers with quality corn seeds while achieving higher incomes.
These agricultural inputs were distributed directly by Vice Mayor Alvin Ray U. Rivera to farmer-beneficiaries to ensure that they received DA’s assistance, according to Ms. Nanelle Marin Quinto of the municipal agriculture office (MAO).
The MAO, led by Ms. Reynette E. Loayon, is grateful to DA for its unceasing support for the corn farmers of Buenavista. They are optimistic that the agriculture sector in the municipality will flourish with interventions like this. # # # (DA-RFO IVA, RAFIS)
