DAMAGE AND LOSSES REPORT
The total damage and losses incurred due to Tropical Storm “VICKY” is now at PhP 129.76 M affecting 16,761 farmers and fisherfolk and 21,008 hectares of agricultural areas. Volume of production loss is at 1,202 metric tons. The affected commodities include rice, corn, high value crops, livestock and fisheries in Cagayan Valley, Davao and Caraga regions. The increase in values is attributed to the additional reports from Davao and Caraga regions.
ACTIONS TAKEN
The Department is in close coordination with concerned NGAs, LGUs and other DRRM-related offices for the impact of TS “VICKY” and available resources for interventions and assistance. Close monitoring is also on-going for possible damage and losses that may be incurred in the agri-fisheries sector.
AVAILABLE INTERVENTIONS
The Department of Agriculture assures affected farmers and fishers of the following available assistance:
Rice, corn, vegetable seed reserves and drugs and biologics for livestock and poultry from DA RFOs;
Fingerlings and fisheries paraphernalia from BFAR;
Survival and Recovery (SURE) Loan Program of Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC); and
Indemnification fund from Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) to pay for the losses incurred.
