Department of Agriculture (DA) Region IV-CALABARZON Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the Massive Seedling Production Program with Batangas State University (BatSU) Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services Engr. Albertson D. Amante (on behalf of President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo); and National College of Science and Technology (NCST) Vice President for Institutional Development and Director for Academics Engr. Erwinson B. Atanacio on December 10, 2020, at Lipa Agricultural Research and Experiment Station in Lipa City, Batangas.
This collaboration is funded under the Bayanihan II: Stimulus Fund for Agriculture.
Under the terms of the agreement, DA CALABARZON will plan, implement, and monitor the said massive seedlings production program and provide necessary allotments to BatSU and NCST to cover the cost of seedlings production amounting to P2,000,000.00 and P1,000,000.00, respectively.
The regional office shall also monitor and evaluate the extent of establishing and maintaining seeds and seedling production as per the program’s standard procedures.
Through this collaboration by DA CALABARZON with the BatSU and the NCST, the production of moringa seedlings will be ensured, and the availability and distribution of planting materials to qualified and identified beneficiaries will be sustained.
The MOA signing was witnessed by DA CALABARZON OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Operations Dennis R. Arpia and OIC-Field Operations Division Chief Engr. Redelliza A.
