PNP Chief kinasuhan, SOCO pinabubuwag

Nagsampa ng kasong grave misconduct at obstruction of criminal prosecution laban kay PNP Chief Police General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa sina Atty. Glenn A. Chong at Jeanette Santillan sa Tanggapn ng Ombudsman kaninang umaga, 18 Agosto 2020.

Sa 25-pahina ng reklamo, inakusahan ni Chong at Santillan ang PNP Chief ng pagtatago ng mga litrato sa pinangyarihan ng krimen na magsisilbing ebidensya sa pagkamatay ng bodyguard ni Chong.

Matatandaan na pinatay si Richard Santillan noong Disyembre 9, 2018 at natagpuan ang bangkay na tadtad ng tama ng bala sa isang sasakyan sa Cainta, Rizal.

Ayon kay Atty. Chong sa panayam ng Tuklasin Natin, sa kabila ng pagpapadala ng mga sulat sa magkakaibang pagkakataon para makahingi ng colored picture ng mga larawan ng mga akusadong Police na may warrant of arrest at iba pang larawan upang maging dagdag ebidensya ay binalewala ng Police Regional Officer 4A at PNP Headquarters.

Maging ang NBI, Public Attorney’s Office, CHR ay hindi binibigyan ng access ng PNP sa mga ebidensya at mahahalagang dokumento o records upang bigyang liwanag at katarungan ang pagkamatay ni Santillan.

Binanggit ni Atty. Glenn A. Chong sa panayam ng Tuklasin Natin na kailangang buwagin na ang SOCO at tanggalin na sa pamamahala ng PNP para hindi na nagkakaroon ng kuntsabahan sa halip ay magtatag ng isang Civilian Forensic Agency upang magkaroon ng autonomiya at kasiguraduhan ang kumakalap, humahawak ng mga ebidensya sa isang naganap na krimen. ***
