Manila Water relentlessly brings much-needed water to towns affected by Taal eruption

After their initial deployment last January 13, water tankers from Manila Water and its operating unit, Laguna Water, continue to provide much-needed water to those affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano, also with help from its other operating unit, South Luzon Water. The tankers readily visited evacuation areas in Tanauan City, Batangas City, Sto. Tomas, San Luis, and Taal in Batangas Province as well as in Alfonso, Cavite. They were also able to deliver water to evacuation centers in Lipa, Calaca, Bauan, Alitagtag, and Nasugbu in Batangas; Cabuyao, Sta. Rosa, and Binan in Laguna, as well as Tagaytay City.

Manila Water and its operating units, Laguna Water and South Luzon Water, continue water delivery activities in communities affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano. Photo shows residents of Silang, Cavite queueing up to fetch water from Laguna Water’s tanker.

Water delivery operations continue to this day, even to towns and communities affected by heavy ashfall in these provinces, such as Silang, Amadeo, and Indang in Cavite. As of end of day Wednesday, there have been a total of more than 130 tanker trips completed, delivering over 1,200 cubic meters of water.

More than 6,300 gallons of potable water were likewise distributed today by the Manila Water Foundation to various evacuation areas in Bauan, Batangas, as part of the 10,100 gallons sent this week, to answer demand for clean drinking water for the evacuees.
