In a 2017 survey conducted by the Pulse Asia, Filipinos are highly concerned with staying healty and avoiding illnesses. Aside from being healthy, personal appearance also matters—including weight. This is why diets and various workout routines are popular among the health-conscious crowd.
To reduce body fat aside from proper diet and exercise, the Industrial Technology Development Institute (DOST-ITDI) developed a novel slimming agent in a topical fat burner cream. This is formulated with caffeine from coffee grounds and grapefruit extract. These natural ingredients are proven to have bioactive effects that target living tissues.
The cream works as a fat burner or thermogenic supplement that helps the body’s natural metabolism to make use of fat reserves as an energy source. After an eight-week clinical trial, the cream has significantly reduced weight, waist, and hip measurements. It is a proven safe and cost-effective alternative to more expensive and risky medications.
Given these benefits, the topical cream cannot be used as a standalone fat reducer. It works best in combination with daily exercise and a healthy diet regimen.
Know more about the novel slimming cream by visiting the Health Cluster. It is one of 21 ITDI-developed technologies selected to be featured in Cluster 2 – Aging Society, Health, and Medical Care of the 2019 National S&T Week (NSTW) Exhibits slated on July 17-21, 2019 at the World Trade Center-Metro Manila. Admission to the exhibits is FREE. It is open to the public from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
NSTW is celebrated every third week of July through Proclamation No. 169 of 1993 to highlight significant contributions of S&T to national development. ###Â (AMGuevarra and MVAtienza\\ ITDI S&T Media Service)
