Manila Water completes its pipelaying and road restoration works in Manila East Road

Manila Water has completed its 11-kilometer long, 800 mm diameter pipelaying and road restoration works along Manila East Road traversing the towns of Taytay, Angono, and Binangonan. The completion of the project enables Manila Water to bring water supply from its Cardona Water Treatment Plant to these Rizal Province towns.

The Cardona Water Treatment Plant Transmission Lines project which commenced in the third quarter of 2018 was completed ahead of the original target completion schedule of August 2019. The restoration works needed fast-tracking for completion before the rainy days set in and before the start of the school year to mitigate traffic congestion. This necessitated Manila Water to work 24/7, to be able to meet the adjusted timeline of restoration of May 31 to June 30. Traffic schemes were adjusted accordingly to address the heavy traffic in certain areas along Manila East Road.

“We would like to extend our gratitude for the support of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the concerned Local Government Units (LGUs) and affected residents in Rizal throughout the duration of the project. We greatly appreciate the support we have always been accorded by our stakeholders in carrying out our projects and programs. We continue to be committed in serving the citizens of Rizal the best way we can.,” Manila Water Group Director for Corporate Project Management Maidy Lynne Quinto stated. #(MWC Corporate Communications)
