The Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) will conduct “ROs Meet Tech Gens” to bring together the DOST Regional Offices and Technology Generators on 04 February 2019 at the Crimson Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The “ROs Meet Tech Gens” is a preparatory activity of the Technology Transfer Day, an activity which provides a venue to fast-track the adoption and commercialization of DOST-funded and -generated technologies.
ROs Meet Tech Gens will be held on 04 February 2019 at the Crimson Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa
The activity will showcase 14 DOST-funded technologies from the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) and seven technologies from the Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI).
In this activity, technology generators will have the opportunity to pitch their technologies to the DOST Regional Directors and technical staff.
“This activity will allow the regional offices to choose which technologies they believe are likely to be adopted and commercialized in their regions,” said Romeo M. Javate, Technology Transfer Day Project Leader and Officer-in-Charge of DOST-TAPI’s Investment and Business Operations Division (IBOD).
“It is also a good venue for technology generators to build relationships with the regional technical staff,” added Javate.
In addition, an orientation on the mechanics of the Technology Transfer Day such as signing of term sheets, Fairness Opinion Board evaluation, and issuance of Fairness Opinion Reports (FORs) and Technology Licensing Agreements (TLAs) is prepared for the event.
Almost 100 participants are expected to attend the activity. (DOST-TAPI S&T Media Service/Anichie C. Itoh)
