KIDDIE BOOK SPREADS AGRI AND SCIENCE AWARENESS AMONG CHILDREN

LINAS TOWN RISES AGAIN

SEVERAL young Filipinos have reached the Kiddie Book “Lina’s Town Rises Again” regardless of their status in life. This only shows how Monsanto Philippines tried to reach up to the grass root level to understand how agriculture, science and technology gives hope and life to human race.

Food is very important for a person to live, without food human beings may get sick, acquire diseases and worst die. Food on the table comes from the land where farmers plant rice, vegetables, corn, coconut, and among others. But we know that the agricultural land reduce its size because of land conversion, calamities, pest, etc. These farmer’s challenges enters the importance of the application of science and technology to attain food sufficiency, for the people able to eat.

The challenges stated are the factors Monsanto Philippines’ team did not stop to educate the young population of the country, it served as their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

In fact, they have reached Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to donate Lina’s Town kiddie book to public libraries, orphanage, elementary schools, non-governmental organizations, and communities in different barangays.

Indeed, it is not surprising Monsanto Philippines was recognized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines to receive a prestigious Anvil Award. (Cathy Cruz)
