Seguridad ng pagkain sa SEA, masusing pag- aaralan

Pangungunahan ng Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) ang pagsasaliksik ukol sa reserbang pagkain kaalinsabay ng nagbabadyang pagsasama- sama ng mga ekonomiya sa rehiyon.

Ang pag- aaral na pinamagatang “Comparative Study on Food Reserve Management and Policies in Southeast Asia” ay tinatayang matatapos sa nalalapit na Mayo.

Ang mga mananaliksik ay binubuo nina Dr. Paul Teng ng Center for Non- Traditional Security Studies, Nanyang Technological University, at mga nakatataas na opisyal ng SEARCA na nangangasiwa sa seguridad ng pagkain.

Sabi ni Dr. Teng, importante ang pag- aaral upang makalikha ng isang epektibong istratehiya na makakapagpanatili ng sapat na pagkain sa Timog- Silangang Asya.

Layon ng pananaliksik na tukuyin ang halaga ng pagkakaroon ng reserba at ang ipaliwanag ang pangangailangan ng bansa na mag- impok ng pagkain.

Tutukuyin din nito kung ano ang mga sinisinop ng bawat bansa at sa kung paanong paraan ito nagagamit.

Tinatayang 11 bansa ang lalahok sa pagsisiyasat na nasa patnubay ng pamahalaan ng bansa kasama ang Southeast Asian Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources ng SEARCA. (Ace Palaganas)
