Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has ordered the tightening of security at City Hall after several offices received bomb threats early this morning.
The Mayor was informed of the security threat shortly after business hours opened at 8 a.m.
Among the offices that reportedly received a bomb threat by phone were the local city office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the Register of Deeds and the City Civil Registry Department.
The QC Police Department’s explosives ordnance disposal teams immediately searched the offices for possible explosives and cleared the said offices of any threat. Other offices and areas within the City Hall compound were also checked.
Nonetheless, Mayor Bautista ordered the QCPD City Hall Department, the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS) and the civilian security unit to tighten security at City Hall.
Business and operations at City Hall remain normal. # (ARES P. GUTIERREZ, Chief, PAISO)
