QC GAGAMIT NA NG HIGH-TECH SYSTEM SA PAGKONTRA SA DROGA

Gagamit na ang Quezon City government ng mga high-tech na kagamitan para maitala ang mga impormasyon tungkol sa mga  krimen na may kinalaman sa droga sa lungsod.

 

Ayon kay Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte, na nanguna sa pamamahagi ng mga computers na may fingerprints scanner sa 142 barangay at 12 himpilan ng Quezon City Police District (QCPD),  layunin ng pagkakaroon ng high tech na equipment na magamit ang lahat ng impormasyon upang makabalangkas ng plano at programa para malabanan ang droga.

 

Ang QC ang pilot city na gagamit ng kauna-unahang pagkakataon ng sistema.

 

Sa ilalim ng sistema, ang barangay ang siyang mangangalap ng impormasyon kabilang ang family background at drug background ng isang tao, ang Quezon City Anti-Drug Abuse  Advisory Council (QCADAAC) naman ang siyang mag-iingat ng mga impormasyon, samantalang ang QCPD-District Anti-Illegal Drugs (DAID) naman ang siyang sasala sa mga impormasyon kabilang ang pagtiyak na walang pending na warrant of arrest.

 

Ayon kay Belmonte ang mga high-tech na kagamitan ay pinondohan ni Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. bilang suporta sa kampanya ng QC laban sa droga.

 

Una dito, inihayag ng vice mayor na may naitalang mahigit 300 barangay officials at employees ang nagpositibo sa drug test kung saan kabilang ang 172 na barangay public safety officers o tanods, 2 kagawad, 52 streetsweepers o palers, 7 barangay health workers, 15 drivers, 15 utility workers, 10 community brigade workers, 11 barangay staff, 1 miyembro ng task force on youth development, 3 sa violence against women and children at 8 lupon ng tagapamayapa at 7 fire volunteers. # (ARES P.
