QC BARANGAYS ISUSULONG ANG PAGGAMIT NG BISIKLETA

Hindi lang kotse at motorsiklo ang paglalaanan ng parking space sa Quezon City.

 

Bibigyan na rin ng sariling bike racks ang lahat ng parking lot sa 142 barangay at iba pang lugar sa Quezon City.

 

Ito ang itinutulak ng Quezon City Council Resolution SP 6760 na humihiling sa mga barangay na maglagay ng bike racks sa kanilang mga barangay hall at iba pang parking area para maayos na maihimpil ang mga bisikleta ng sinumang gumagamit nito.

 

Kinikilala ng resolusyon ang kahalagahan ng bisikleta sa iba’t ibang aspeto ng buhay ng tao.

 

Ayon kay Councilor Allan B. Reyes na siyang pangunahing may-akda ng resolusyon, may mga hakbang sa Quezon City para sa pagtatalaga ng bicycle sharing system o community bicycle program katulad ng ipinapatupad sa ibang mga siyudad sa ibang bansa.

 

Ayon kay Reyes ang paghihikayat sa paggamit ng bisikleta sa Quezon City ay isa ring alternatibong paraan ng transportasyon na makakatulong upang  solusyunan ang lumalalang polusyon sa mundo.

 

“Biking is cost-effective, healthy and convenient to the users,” ani Reyes.

 

Suportado naman ni Quezon City government sa pangunguna ni Mayor Herbert M. Bautista ang mga hakbang para sa pagpapalawig ng paggamit ng bisikleta upang lalong maging environment-friendly ang lungsod. # (ARES P. GUTIERREZ, Chief, PAISO)
