DAR conducts Human Resource Management Course

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Cebu recently conducted a two-day Human Resource Management Course for the cooperative officers of various agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) in the province of Cebu to improve the management of their respective cooperative.

 

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Elvira Bation said the training aims to provide necessary interventions to capacitate the cooperative officers. “This course focuses on human management of businesses and projects provided by the DAR,” she said.

 

The training, held at the Golden Prince Hotel, Cebu City, were participated by at  least 24 cooperative officers from   different ARBOs, which include United Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative  (UNIFAMCO) of  Bunga, Toledo City; Media Once Farmers’ Cooperative (MOFAMC)  of  Media Once, Toledo City;  Carcar Community Farmers’ Multipurpose Cooperative (CCFMPC) of  Canasujan, Carcar City;  Liburon Multi-purpose Cooperative (LMPC)  of  Liburon, Carcar City; Hagnaya Organized People for Environment Multipurpose Cooperative  (HOPEMPC) of Hagnaya, Carmen;

 

Don Virgilio  Gonzales Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (DONVIRGOARBC) of Don Virgilio, Medellin; San Jose Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Multipurpose Cooperative (SJARBMPC) of Caputatan Sur, Medellin; and Anonang Norte Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association  (ANARBA) of Binabag, Bogo City.

 

“The training is part of the Program Beneficiaries Development under the Social Infrastructure –Local Capability Building (SILCAB) and was conducted by a team from DAR Cebu headed by SILCAB Coordinator Judy Maratas,” Bation said.

 

SILCAB aims to build and strengthen social institutions of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) beneficiaries that will serve as a mechanism for accessing support services to farmer-beneficiaries.  # (Public Assistance and Media Relations Service, Department of Agrarian Reform)
