The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has recently turned over a 2.6-kilometer Sitio D6 road and a 89-meter molasses bridge for the benefit of 2,000 households members in Bubog-San Agustin ARC, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Luisito A. Jacinto said the project was jointly implemented by DAR and the Municipality of San Jose under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP) III.
Barangay Captain Renato R. Oquindo said that tractors used to be the only vehicles farmers were relying on in transporting their produce and hauling costs was usually too high.
“With the projects, we can now easily bring our agricultural products to market with a shorter travel time and lesser hauling cost” he said.
San Jose Mayor Romulo Festin lauded the DAR for the project. He also committed to finish concreting the circumferential road from Brgy. Bubog to D6 Road.
The activity was participated by the barangay officials and residents of Brgy. Bubog and San Agustin, Cooperative Representatives of Tagumpay ng Curanta Free Farmers Cooperative (TACUFFC), DPWH Representative, ARISP III Project Manager Mr. Henry Zapata, JICA Representative Mr. Yoshiyuki Ueno, Engr.
