P700, 000 WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED IN LAGUNA: PDEA arrests 2 pushers

Seven hundred thousand pesos worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, was confiscated by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) during a buy-bust operation in Laguna on November 7, 2015

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that operatives of PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3) under Director Gladys Rosales conducted an entrapment operation in Phase 2, Golden City Subdivision, Dila, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Arrested during the operation are suspects identified as Rhayaron Portales, 32 years old, a resident of Cabuyao, Laguna; and Angelita Gabayan, 47, of Muntinlupa City.

PDEA RO3 operatives made a drug deal with Portales and Gabayan to facilitate the sale of 200 grams of shabu and first agreed to rendezvous in San Fernando, Pampanga, then in Muntinlupa City, and eventually in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, at around 3:00 in the afternoon.

Confiscated from the duo were 200 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated market value of P700, 000.

A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” will be filed in court against Portales and Gabayan, who are temporarily detained at PDEA RO3 Jail Facility in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
