16 DRUG PERSONALITIES ARRESTED, SHABU, PARAPHERNALIA, FIREARMS SEIZED IN GINGOOG CITY SEARCH

Sixteen drug personalities were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) during simultaneous implementation of five search warrants in different barangays in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental on August 11, 2015.

The operation also resulted in the seizure of shabu, drug paraphernalia and firearms.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the search operations were conducted at around 4:30 in the morning in the following areas: Gomez Street, Barangay 6; Purok 2, Barangay 22-A; Barangay 18-A; Kahulugan Street, Barangay 26; and Jadol/Veterans Street, Barangay 18, all situated in Gingoog City.

Joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO10) Misamis Oriental Provincial Special Enforcement Team under Director Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA Regional Office 13 (PDEA RO13) under Director Julius Navales and PDEA Special Enforcement Service-Special Weapons and Tactics (PDEA SES-SWAT) under Director Ishmael Fajardo, Jr., together with teams from Gingoog City Police Station and Cagayan De Oro City Police Office (COCPO) implemented five search warrants issued by Judge Judy Sia-Galvez of RTC Branch 42, Medina, Misamis Oriental that led to the arrest of 16 drug personalities.

Arrested during the operation were suspects identified as Cristina Dumangcas, 39 years old, a former barangay kagawad and leader of Gingoog Drug Group; and six of its members Kim Dumangcas, 21; John Maru Delos Angeles 18; Nestor Castro, 57; Jeffrey Sagrado, 40; Jackey Chan, 18; and Reyjune Bucio, 26.

Nine more suspects identified as Al Tyrone Ramoso, a former SK Chairman; Michelle Acenas; Jojo Lope Cuerdo III; Iry Rose Braga; Patroclos Cainglet; Jaries Dultra; Katrina Daamo; Sheila Emperado; and Reynan Cabante, alias Russwayne Hernando, were also apprehended.

However, a certain Elmer Cañosa, one of the subjects of the operation, was not around during the implementation of the search warrants. Various drug paraphernalia were found inside his house.

Confiscated during the search were a total of 21 plastic sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing approximately 145 grams, with an estimated street value of P507,500, assorted drug paraphernalia, one 357 Smith and Wesson pistol; one TEC-KG9 weapon; one cal. 45 with magazine; one cal. 5.56 revolver; one cal. 45 Colt pistol; and rounds of ammunition.

The arrested suspects will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Additional charges for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will also be filed against them. They are presently detained at PDEA RO10 Jail Facility.
