PDEA, PNP SEIZE P6.3M WORTH OF SHABU IN TAGUM CITY

Combined anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) confiscated P6.3 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as shabu during the implementation of a search warrant in Tagum City, Davao del Norte on August 17, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspects as cousins, Junaid Bancola, alias Malik, 35 years old; Samerah Bancola, alias Samirah, 23; both residents of Pasir, Malabang, Lanao del Sur; Moncao Bancola, alias Mongkao,35; and Sarah Bancola, 38, of Sarimanok, Sabala Manao, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

At around 4:10 am, combined operatives of PDEA Regional Office 11 under Director Adzhar Albani, Tagum City Police Office, Region 11 Intelligence Division implemented a search warrant issued by the Honorable Arlene Lirag-Palabrica, Presiding Judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 31, Tagum City against the Bancolas in Barangay West, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.

Confiscated from the Bancolas were 10 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 700 grams with an estimated value of P6, 300, 000 and various drug paraphernalia.

Cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Equipment and Other Paraphernalia for Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed in court against the Bancolas.

On August 16, 2015 at around 9:30 am, the same law enforcement unit of PDEA RO11 and Task Force Davao, 10th Infantry Division conducted a checkpoint in Barangay Sirawan, Toril, Davao City that led to the arrest of George Baligao y Cristobal, 45, a miner.

Seized from Baligao were 12 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 60 grams with an estimated value of P540,000, and one caliber 45 pistol.

Charges for violation of Sections 11 and 12, Article II of RA 9165 will be filed in court against Baligao. An additional charge for violation of RA10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will also be filed against him.
