P818, 400 WORTH OF MARIJUANA DESTROYED IN LANAO DEL SUR

Eight hundred eighteen thousand and four hundred pesos worth of fully-grown marijuana fruiting plants were destroyed by combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Army (PA) during a follow-up marijuana eradication in Amai Manabilang, Lanao del Sur on August 14, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the teams, composed of agents from PDEA Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA- ARMM) under Director Emerson R. Rosales, Amai Manabilang Municipal Police Station, Lanao del Sur Provincial Public Safety Company, 45th Infantry Battalion-Alpha Company, 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army and Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office conducted a marijuana eradication in Barangay Mansilano, Amai Manabilang, Lanao del Sur which resulted in the confiscation and destruction of 5,115 fully grown marijuana fruiting plants.

No cultivator was arrested during the operation. The destroyed and burned on-site marijuana plants were uprooted from a plantation site with an estimated land area of one hectare.

Marijuana samples were brought to the PDEA ARMM laboratory for documentation and evidence custody.

Earlier on July 21, 2015, the same team conducted a marijuana eradication in another area of Amai Manabilang that resulted in the destruction of 40,000 fully grown marijuana plants worth six million pesos.
