Seven hundred thousand pesos worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, was confiscated by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) during a buy-bust operation in Cagayan de Oro on August 13, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that agents of PDEA Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO10) under Director Wilkins Villanueva, together with elements of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office-Crimes Against Person and Property Desk (COCPO-CAPPD), Police Regional Office 10, Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (RAIDSOTG), Regional Intelligence Division (RID), Cagayan de Oro City Police Office Station 1, and COCPO-DMD conducted an entrapment operation in Yacapin and Burgos Streets, Cagayan de Oro City, at around 2:50 in the afternoon.
Arrested during the operation is suspect identified as Mark Anthony Izon Roa, alias Totoy Roa, 34 years old, single, a resident of No. 40 Yacapin-Burgos Streets, Cagayan de Oro City.
Confiscated from Roa were six pieces of plastic cellophane containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 300 grams, with an estimated street value of P700, 000.
The pieces of drug evidence were brought to PDEA RO10 Laboratory Service for quantitative and qualitative examinations.
A case for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” will be filed in court against Roa, who is temporarily detained at PDEA RO10 Jail Facility in Cagayan de Oro City.
