Streamlining Awards rites held in Clark

Outstanding local government units in Central Luzon whose exemplary efforts and achievements in enhancing business environment in 2014 were recognized in ceremonies held at the Holiday Inn, Clark Freeport Zone.

The Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation Inc. (CLGCFI), chaired by Tarlac Governor Victor A. Yap, organized the “9th Recognition of Outstanding Central Luzon LGUs Implementing the Streamlining Program,” an annual event held with the support of the Department of Trade and Industry – Central Luzon (DTI-3) and the Department of Interior and Local Government – Central Luzon (DILG-3).

DTI–3 Director Judith P. Angeles welcomed DTI Assistant Secretary for Industry Development Group Ceferino S. Rodolfo, as the keynote speaker for the event. Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alavarado gave a message as Vice-Chairman of the CLGFI. DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan presented and explained the categories and the awards process. At least thirty-two awards were given in four (4) major categories while three (3) LGUs were recognized as ranking among the Top Ten in competitiveness in the country. The event also included the Oath Taking of the Central Luzon Association of BPLOs (CLAB).

Director Angeles said that the regular recognition of local government units through these awards is a boost not only to the LGUs but also to the economy of the region through ease of doing business. Through the streamlining program jointly supported by DTI, DILG and other government agencies concerned with the registration of business entities, investment environment of Central Luzon is made more favorable. It was noted that Central Luzon has one of the highest number of new business registration in 2014.
