The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently completed P3.6 million worth of infrastructure projects that should help develop, empower and make more productive the farming communities in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
Polomolok, was by DAR under the national government’s PAyapa at MAsaganang pamayaNAn (PAMANA) program, which covers the town’s 23 barangays, as part of the country’s sustainable rural development program.
“Our team, along with the team from the local government of Polomolok, conducted a joint inspection of these project which are now ready for turn over to the local government unit of Polomolok,” says DAR Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer Felix C. Frias.
The 12 infrastructure projects includes the construction of lined canals in Barangays Magsaysay, Poblacion, Lapu, Upper Klinan, and Polo, multipurpose buildings at Glamang and Silway 8, construction of a potable water system and intake tank at Brgy. Cannery Site, construction of submersible pump and rehabilitation of a school stage at Klinan 6, road concretization at Lumakil and construction of solar dryer in Brgy. Bentung.
PAMANA is the government’s program and framework for peace and development in areas affected by conflict and communities covered by existing peace agreements.
