Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado officially acknowledged the receipt of equipment turned over by the Department of Trade and Industry Central Luzon (DTI–3) Director Judith P. Angeles at the Bulacan Packaging Center, Capitol Compound, City of Malolos, Bulacan. The equipment were turned over for the use of the Bulacan Packaging Service and Toll Packing Center (BPSTPC) SME clients.
In accepting the equipment, the governor commended the efforts of DTI under the leadership of DTI-3 Director Judith P. Angeles and Provincial Director Zorina Aldana for providing the equipment for the use and benefit of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), in the province. The equipment consists of an automatic granular packaging machine and a die cutting machine worth Php 977,840.00. Governor Alvarado stressed that MSMEs form the backbone and strength of the Bulacan economy, and every support should be given to them.
Representatives of MSMEs in the province led by Aurora Sumulong and Violeta Santiago of the Baliuag Federation of Multi-Purpose Cooperative expressed their gratitude for the continuous support of DTI and the Provincial government in the development of their businesses. They added that the equipment, which falls under the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) program of DTI, will be beneficial to their respective enterprises since they do not have to go outside the province to procure packaging for their products.
The signing of the acknowledgment was done by Governor Alvarado, Director Angeles, DTI Provincial Director Aldana and witnessed by Vice-Governor Daniel Fernando, Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office Head Cynthia Abiol, provincial board members, department heads and other cooperating national agencies.
