PDEA SHUTS DOWN FAMILY-OWNED DRUG DEN IN MARINDUQUE

A couple and their children, who are allegedly engaged in the operation of a drug den, were arrested by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police during the implementation of a search warrant in the province of Marinduque.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspects as Delfin Caselis, alias Boy Demonyo, 44 years old; his wife Blowette, 46; and their children, Mark Joseph, 24; Cherry Ann, 18; and Jerico Quimora, 20, the couple’s adopted son. All are residents of Barangay Uno, Buenavista, Marinduque.

On June 29, 2015 at around 8:40 in the morning,  elements of PDEA Regional Office 4B (PDEA RO4B) Marinduque and Romblon Special Enforcement Team under Director Archie Grande, in collaboration with Buenavista Municipal Police Station, Marinduque Provincial Police Office, Provincial Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Group
(PAIDSOTG) and Regional Intelligence Division 4B, conducted lawful search which resulted in the arrest of the Caselis family in their house doubling as a drug den in Barangay Uno.

When operatives searched the house, plastic sachets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and marijuana; and seven pieces of disposable lighters were found inside.

Suspected visitors of the drug den identified as Jimpol Arriola, 23; Mark Joseph Limbo, 28; Patricia Jean Ombao, 24; Jayson Vasquez, 20, who were inside the house when the operation was conducted, were also apprehended.

Cases for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are now being prepared for filing in court against the Caselis couple. A separate case for violation of Section 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Drug Den) will be filed in court against the Caselis siblings, Quimora and the four others. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
