Yields P3.5 million worth of shabu
After months of close monitoring and surveillance, a Chinese national was arrested by joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police after he sold methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a poseur-buyer in a shopping mall in Cavite.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Jessie L. Chua, a 41-year-old businessman from Veraville Town Homes, City of Las Piñas.
On June 22, 2015 at around 3:30 in the afternoon, combined operatives of PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3) under the direct supervision of Director Jeoffrey Tacio and Imus Police Station arrested Chua during an entrapment operation inside District Mall, Imus, Cavite. Seized from him was one kilogram of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu placed inside a large ziplock plastic bag, with an estimated street value of P3.5 million.
Tacio revealed that PDEA RO3 has been monitoring Chua’s illegal drug activity since February 2015.
Chua will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. He is presently detained at PDEA RO3 Jail Facility in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
