Two million and forty four thousand pesos (P2,044,000) worth of fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings were destroyed by combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) during a three-day marijuana eradication in Benguet.
The teams, composed of operatives from PDEA – Cordillera Administrative Region (PDEA-CAR) under Director Ronald Allan Ricardo and elements from Bakun Municipal Police Station, conducted the operation in Sitios Owasan and Kaot, Barangay Kayapa, Bakun, Benguet that led to the destruction of seven marijuana plantation sites with an estimated land area of 1,026 square meters on May 26 to 28, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that no cultivator was arrested during the operation, but the operating teams were able to destroy and burned on-site 8,420 fully grown marijuana plants, and 9,000 marijuana seedlings with a total estimated value of P2,044,000.00 (Mr. Glenn J.
