Combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested two drug personalities who happened to be brothers during a buy-bust operation in Surigao del Sur on July 5, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac Jr. said that the suspects Jeofel Navarro, 24 years old; and his older brother Jemwell, 25, both residents of Purok 7, Gordonas Village, Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, were nabbed by operatives of PDEA Regional Office 13 (PDEA RO13) under Director Julius Navales, in collaboration with a team from Bislig City Police Station after they sold sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing approximately 20 grams to a poseur-buyer in Bugak District, Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, at around 8:30 in the evening.
Seized pieces of drug evidence were submitted to PDEA RO13 Laboratory Service for forensic examination.
The Navarros will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
