P500,000 WORTH OF SHABU SEIZED IN OCCIDENTAL MINDORO

Half a million pesos worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, was confiscated during a buy-bust operation in Occidental Mindoro on June 18, 2015.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the illegal drug was seized from suspect identified as Arnold Adrias, 37 years old, a resident of Halayhay, Tanza, Cavite.

Joint elements of PDEA Regional Office 4B (PDEA RO4B) Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office under Director Archie Grande and Mamburao Municipal Police Station, arrested Adrias at around 3:00 pm, after he sold 12 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 50grams worth P500,000 to a poseur-buyer. The entrapment operation took place in Purok Maasim, Barangay 9, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro.

Adrias will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On June 17, 2015, combined operatives of PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3) under Director Jeoffrey Tacio and San Jose del Monte Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Muzon, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan which resulted in the arrest of Reynaldo Dela Rosa, alias Manok, 43; Ricky Suarez, 25; Alim de Jesus, 35; and Lani Bentulan, 41, all residents of Pabahay 2000, Barangay Muzon, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. Seized from them were 21 plastic sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Dela Rosa has a pending warrant of arrest for robbery under Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 221 in Quezon City.

Dela Rosa, Suarez, De Jesus and Bentulan will face charges for violation of Section 5, Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) and Section 13 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia During Parties/ Gatherings) of RA
9165.

Meanwhile, in Magallanes Street, Barangay Poblacion, Alimodian, Iloilo, agents of PDEA Regional Office 6 (PDEA RO6) under Director Paul Ledesma conducted an entrapment operation on June 19, 2015 that led to the arrest of Rem Glenn Villaluna, alias Rem-Rem, 29, and the confiscation of sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P16,200.

A case for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the anti-drug law awaits Villaluna.(Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
