Three packs of suspected bricks of marijuana dried leaves were intercepted inside a bus terminal in Caloocan City during an anti-drug operation conducted by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on June 17, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the illegal drug, weighing approximately four kilograms and placed inside a carton box, was intercepted by operatives of PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (PDEA RO-NCR) under Director Erwin Ogario in Victory Liner Terminal, Barangay 1, Caloocan City at around 7:00 in the evening.
The operation was a result of the information received by PDEA that a box containing marijuana bricks has reached Metro Manila aboard a bus from a province in the north. Investigations are still on-going to verify the origin and whereabouts of the sender and intended receiver.
On the same day, at around 3:00 in the afternoon, the same operating unit proceeded to Lagro High School in Quezon City and confiscated two plastic sachets of marijuana dried fruiting tops weighing five grams. Prior to the operation, a report on the presence of illegal drugs was relayed by school officials to PDEA.(Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
