LOCAL DRUG GROUP MEMBER, 2 COHORTS BUSTED IN CABANATUAN SEARCH; DRUG DEN DISMANTLED

A local drug group member and his two accomplices were arrested by combined agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and local police during the implementation of a search warrant in Cabanatuan City.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspects as Mark Lapina, alias Pate, 29 years old, a notorious member of Lapina Drug Group operating in Nueva Ecija; Salvador Dela Cruz, 29; and Franklin Macapagal, 34, all residents of Purok 2, MS Garcia, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

On June 6, 2015 at around 3:30 in the afternoon, joint elements of PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3) under Director Jeoffrey Tacio, Provincial Criminal Investigation Special Operations Group-Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office (PCISOG-NEPPO) and Cabanatuan City Police Station arrested the trio by virtue of a search warrant in their house, a suspected drug den in Purok 2, MS Garcia.

Found inside were four small plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing approximately 10 grams and various drug paraphernalia.

Lapina, Dela Cruz and Macapagal, who are presently detained at PDEA RO3 Jail Facility in Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, will be facing charges for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of Drug Den), Section 7 (Employees of Drug Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.(Mr. Glenn J.
