BARANGAY TANOD, 6 OTHERS ARRESTED IN ORMOC CITY

A barangay tanod and six others were arrested during a buy-bust operation by combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Army (PA) in Ormoc City on June 15, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspects as Alejandro Roble y Fernandez, 54, a barangay tanod of Brgy. Tambulilid, Ormoc City; Marissa Limbona y Otadoy, alias Maris, 41 years old; Marricris Mendoza y Tahum, alias Maring, 53; Dominador Pappellero y Siaboc, 44; Ruel Urbano y Martinez, 26, Ismael Alnarez y Abano, 36; all are residents of Sitio Kanipaan, Brgy. Tambulilid, Ormoc City; and Romelo Cabahug y Claro, 48, of Liloan, Cebu City.

At around 2:30 pm, combined operatives of PDEA Regional Office 8 (PDEA RO8) under Director Laurefel P. Gabales, PNP, and PA conducted a buy-bust operation in Sitio Kanipaan, Brgy. Tambulilid,Ormoc City which resulted in the arrest of Roble and the six otherdrug suspects.

A PDEA agent was able to buy one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing two grams with an estimated street value of P16,000 from the suspects.

Confiscated from the suspects were 119 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 90 grams with an estimated value of P720,000, three tooters with shabu residue, five pieces of empty plastic sachets and 20 aluminum foil.

After an hour, at around 3:20 pm, the same team implemented a search warrant against Mike Limbona y Gandamasir in his residence in Sitio Kanipaan, Brgy. Tambulilid, Ormoc City doubling as drug den. However, Limbona eluded arrest.

Roble, Limbona, Mendoza, Alnarez, Papellero, Urbano and Cabahug will be facing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of
2002.

Arrested suspects are temporarily detained at the Ormoc City Police Station detention facility.

Limbona will be charged for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den).(Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
