BARANGAY KAGAWAD ARRESTED IN PALO, LEYTE P2.4 million worth of shabu confiscated

Combined operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a barangay councilor during a buy-bust operation in Palo, Leyte on June 11, 2015. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 300 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P2.4 million pesos.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Abdulcader Panantaon y Mamao, alias Cader, 43 years old, married, a barangay kagawad and a resident of Brgy. Dalama, Mulondo, Lanao del Sur.

At around 4:20 pm, joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office 8 (PDEA RO8) under Director Laurefel P. Gabales, RO8 Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group, Provincial Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force, Tacloban City Police Office-Intelligence Unit, City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force and Region 8 Criminal Investigation Detection Unit conducted a buy-bust operation in the vicinity of Borderline Cottages, Maharlika Highway, Brgy. Pawing, Palo, Leyte that resulted in the arrest of Panantaon after he agreed to sell four pieces of big heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 300 grams to a PDEA agent who acted as poseur-buyer.

Also confiscated from Panantaon was the buy-bust money used during the operation.

Panantaon will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

On June 10, 2015, at around 1:30 pm, joint elements of PDEA Regional Office 2 (PDEA RO2) under Director Juvenal B. Azurin and Claveria Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Centro 1, Claveria, Cagayan. The operation led to the arrest of Ferdierose Tamboa, alias Rose, 35, of Brgy. Ajat, Iguig, Cagayan.

Seized from her possession were one piece of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet of suspected shabu and the marked money.

Tamboa will be charged for violation of Section 5, Article II of RA 9165.
On June 10, 2015, at around 10:30 in the evening, joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office 1 under Director Adrian G. Alvariño, and Santa Cruz Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Poblacion Este, Santa Cruz, Ilocos Sur which resulted in the arrest of Jaime Lopez y Espiritu, 31; and Filomeno Lanuza y Jadormeo, 33, all suspects are residents of Tagudin, Ilocos Sur.

Confiscated from the suspects were five pieces of heat-sealed of transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu and the two pieces of P1,000  used as the buy-bust money. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
