ANTI-DRUG OPERATIONS YIELD 3 DRUG SUSPECTS

Back to back anti-drug operations on June 17, 2015 led to the arrest of three drug personalities and the confiscation of sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, in the regions.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the operations were conducted in the provinces of Cagayan and Bataan.

In Sta. Teresita, Cagayan, combined elements of PDEA Regional Office 2 (PDEA RO2) under Director Juvenal Azurin, National Bureau of Investigation Cagayan Valley Regional Office 2 (NBI-CAVRO2) and Sta. Teresita Police Station implemented a lawful search which resulted in the arrest of Jouell Baje, alias Bornok/Nok, 33 years old, a businessman and a resident of Barangay Centro East, Sta. Teresita, Cagayan.

Seized inside Baje’s house were five plastic sachets of shabu weighing five grams, with an estimated street value of P15,000 and various drug paraphernalia.

In Dinalupihan, Bataan, two suspects identified as Lincoln Darung, 34; and Marydel Gamboa, alias Kim, 26, were busted by agents of PDEA Regional Office 3 (PDEA RO3) under Director Jeoffrey Tacio after the duo sold one plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer in front of Natanauan Apartment, Barangay Naparing, Dinalupihan, Bataan.

Baje will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while Darung and Gamboa will face charges for violation of Section 5, in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy to Sell) of the anti-drug law (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
