A suspected drug pusher, who is included in the top ten target list of rug personalities in Cagayan de Oro City, was arrested by combined agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the implementation of a search warrant on June 11, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Hassan Edres, 21 years old, a resident of Mabolo Street, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City.
At around 4:00 in the afternoon, Edres was arrested in his house along Mabolo Street, Carmen during a lawful search conducted by elements of PDEA Regional Office 10 (PDEA RO10) under Director Wilkins Villanueva, together with a team from the City Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force.
Confiscated from Edres were two heat-sealed sachets containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, weighing approximately 10 grams, with an estimated value of P70,000.
Edres’ mother, Diara, who is also the subject of the operation, was not around during the search. She remains at large.
A case for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is now being prepared for filing in court against the mother and son. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
