PDEA, PNP RAID SHABU TIANGGE IN NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

Elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) dismantled a suspected shabu “tiangge”, or flea market during the implementation of a search warrant in Negros Occidental on July 11, 2015.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the illegal facility is located along Luzurriaga Street, Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

At around 7:00 in the morning, joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office 6 (PDEA RO6) under Director Paul Ledesma and San Carlos City Police Station raided an establishment used as shabu tiangge that is owned and operated by a certain alias Kadi.

However, alias Kadi was not around during the search but his alleged employees, Meno Into, 37 years old; and his wife Jasmin, 23, who were present inside the shabu tiangge, were apprehended.

Seized inside were two plastic sachets of shabu, disposable diaper with suspected shabu residue and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Cases for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Den, Dive or Resort), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being prepared for filing in court against the Intos and alias Kadi, who remains at large. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
