PDEA, PNP DISMANTLE DRUG DEN IN PANGASINAN

5 suspected visitors arrested

Anti-narcotics operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in collaboration with local police, dismantled a house used in selling and using illegal drugs during an authorized search in Pangasinan.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the house, doubling as a drug den in Barangay Zone 5, Rosales, Pangasinan, is owned and maintained by Roland Cabudoy.

On July 8, 2015, at around 12:08 in the morning, operating teams of PDEA Regional Office 1 (PDEA RO1) under Director Adrian Alvariño and Rosales Police Station implemented a search warrant issued by Judge Renato Pinlac of RTC Branch 57, San Carlos City, Pangasinan that led to the arrest of five suspected customers of the den identified as Julie Ann Tomagos, 23; Melindo Sibayan, 40; and Gerson Quiane, 27, all jobless; Wilma Mangliag, 38, a utility worker; and Eric Pascua, 35, a tricycle driver.

The alleged maintainer of the den identified as Roland Cabudoy, managed to elude arrest.

Confiscated inside were three plastic sachets of suspectedmethamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, and various drug paraphernalia.

Cabudoy will be charged for violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II, of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. A separate case for violation of Section 7 (Visitor of a Drug Den) will be filed in court against the five other suspects.

On July 9, 2015 at about 3:10 in the afternoon, the same operating unit, together with a team from San Fernando City Police Station served a warrant of arrest which resulted in the arrest of Lina Cabuguas, 43, in her house in Ilocanos Norte, City of San Fernando, La Union.

Prior to Cabuguas’ arrest, she has a standing arrest warrant issued on March 18, 2013 for violation of RA 9165 with no bail recommended. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
