The leader of a local drug group operating in Samar was arrested by anti-narcotics agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), in collaboration with local police, after he sold methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, to a poseur-buyer in Calbayog City on July 10, 2015.
PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. identified the suspect as Patricio Aguilar, alias Patrick, 52 years old, a high-value targeted drug personality and resident of Barangay Awang West, Calbayog City, Samar.
Aguilar is the leader of Aguilar Drug Group which is engaged in the illegal drug trade in the province of Samar, particularly Calbayog City.
At around 1:00 pm, joint operatives of PDEA Regional Office 8 (PDEA RO8) under the direct supervision of Director Laurefel Gabales, Calbayog City Police Station and Police Public Safety Company-Samar Police Provincial Office (PPSC-SPPO) arrested Aguilar during an entrapment operation in his neighborhood in Barangay Awang West. Seized from him was one plastic sachet of shabu.
Aguilar will be charged for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Mr. Glenn J. Malapad, OIC, Public Information Office, PDEA)
