QC TAX RELIEF ENDS; REMAINING DELINQUENCIES FACE AUCTION

                    Higit sa 8,600 taxpayers sa Quezon City ng real property ang nag-avail ng local government’s tax relief incentive, at inalis ang kanilang estado sa delinquency list. Sama-sama, sila ay binabayaran ng Php 140,770,000, habang ang maiipon nila para sa kanilang sarili ay Php 186,580,000 para sa liabilities relieved. Iba pang 60 taxpayers’ ang kailangang ma-update ang kanilang real property tax records sa City Assessor, para i-report ang kanilang records of transfer.

                    Ito ang resulta ng programa ng gobyerno na Diamond Jubilee Tax Relief sa pamamagitan ng Ordinance No. SP-2363, series of 2014. Pinapayagan ang mga delikwenteng real property taxpayers’ na bayaran ng buo ang kanilang mga liabilities, sa pamamagitang ng pagbabayad ng hanggang sa huling limang taon. Ang prebilihiyong ito ay mula Enero 2 hanggang Hunyo 30, 2015 lamang.

                    Nabanggit ni Mayor Herbert M. Bautista na tumaas ng 51% ang delinquency tax collections sa loob lamang ng unang anim na buwan ngayong taon. Taliwas sa pagbaba ng dilikwenteng koleksyon sa mga nakaraang taon. “Meron na tayong 140 milyong pisong pondo na magagamit natin sa pagsulong ng programa sa lungsod,” sinabi ni Bautista.

                    Sa kabilang banda, ang mga may-ari ng 38,029 real property units na hindi nag-avail para sa kanilang sarili ng relebo at nananatiling dilikwente, ay kailangang harapin ang prospect of auction. Base na rin sa detalyadong report ng Quezon City Information Technology Development Office, ang listahan ng mga dilikwenteng real property taxpayers’ kasama ang mga malalaking korpoyasyon sa bansa tulad ng mga developers, broadcast station, hospital, banks, at government corporations. Ang pagkakaroon ng notipikado nilang liabilities sa maraming paraan. Upang manatili sa kanila ang kanilang mga ari-arian, kailangan nilang ito bayaran sa nakatandang panahon.

                    Sinabi ni Mayor Bautista na ang mga makukuhang gamit ay magiging asset o mapupunta sa Quezon City Development Authority (QCDA). (Lynne Pingoy)
