Tampok: Digital Interactive Exhibits sa NSTW 2015

Sa pagdiriwang ng National Science and Technology Week mula Hulyo 24-28, 2015, samu’t-saring aktibidades ang inihanda ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST) na magpapakita ng iba’t-ibang talent at galing ng mga siyentistang Pilipino.

Magkakaroon ng mga exhibits na katatampukan ng iba’t-ibang teknolohiya na makakatulong sa pagpapaunlad sa sistema ng ating weather monitoring system at forecasting gayundin sa disaster risk management.

Isa sa mga pangunahing atraksyon sa exhibit ay ang digital na representasyon ng inilabas na West Valley Fault System Atlas (WVFSA) ng PHILVOLCS, isang libro na naglalaman ng mapa ng 33 lungsod na nasa itaas ng West Valley Fault.

Isa pa sa mga pinakita ay ang portable PAGASA paltenarium na siguradong magbibigay aliw sa  mga kabataan at estudyanteng attendees sa NSTW.

Ilan pa sa mga naging atraksyon ay ang life-sized scale models ng iba’t-ibang weather monitoring equipment gaya ng automated weather system, automated rain gauge, at ang DREAM LiDAR mapping. Kasama rin ang mga scale models volcanic eruption at earthquakes.

Magpapakita rin ang PAGASA ng isang real-time Doppler radar monitoring na mag-aallow sa mga attendees na maranasan ang real-life weather monitoring mula sa weather bureau.

Tatalakayin din ng mga eksperto mula sa PAGASA ang mga peligro na pwedeg iwasan sa panahon ng sakuna.

Lahat ng ito at iba pa sa 2015 National Science and Technology Week na gaganapin mula July 24-28, 2015 sa SMX Convention Center sa Mall of Asia Pasay City. (Freda Migano)
