Maynilad CSR Program wins Gold Anvil Award

West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) won a Gold Anvil Award for its Mission Ginhawa Program in the recently concluded 50th Anvil Awards held at the Marriott Hotel in Newport City, Pasay.

Maynilad’s Mission Ginhawa Program was recognized in the PR Programs – Disaster Programs Category for its innovative approach to disaster response. Under the program, Maynilad provided Typhoon Yolanda-devastated areas access to safe drinking water through community engagement and donation of compact microfiltration systems.

The easy-to-install, portable and shareable microfiltration systems can purify water from deep wells and other freshwater sources without need for electricity or chemicals. Each filter can last up to 10 years and produce some 1,440 liters of water daily—enough to address the daily requirement of around 20 families. Maynilad’s donations were able to address the drinking water needs of some 42,000 survivors.

The company also coordinated with government agencies and non-profit organizations to extend technical assistance to local water providers and lend Maynilad’s tankers to assist in the water distribution.

The Anvil Awards is organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP).  It is the symbol of excellence in public relations in the Philippines, awarded by a distinguished multi-sectoral jury to outstanding public relations programs and tools designed and implemented in the past year.
