Maynilad environment programs win int’l award

Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) recently won the Gold Award for Environmental Excellence conferred during the 2015 Global CSR Summit and Awards held recently in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Established in 2009, the Global CSR Awards is Asia’s most prestigious recognition program for Corporate Social Responsibility. This year, the awards received over 200 entries from 50 companies from all over Asia.
Maynilad established a multi-pronged program for environmental stewardship that includes baseline establishment through an annual Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory, technical and system innovations, and a multi-site reforestation and afforestation program dubbed “Plant for Life”.
“Part of our mission is to ensure that we operate in a sustainable manner so our current and future customers can benefit from our continued services. This award is a testament to this commitment,” said Maynilad President and CEO Ricky P. Vargas.
