“YAMAN SA PAGHAHALAMAN” IN QC

A colorful float parade participated by plant growers and plant lovers in the country highlighted Friday’s opening of Hortikultura Extravaganza 2015:”Yaman sa Paghahalaman” at the Quezon Memorial Circle .

Hortikultura Extravaganza 2015, sponsored by the QC government in partnership with the Philippine Horticulture Society, Inc. (PHSI), also forms part of the city’s 75th Diamond Jubilee celebration.

Participants to the parade include floats provided for by the Quezon Memorial Circle , PHSI, Del Monte, Villar, King Louis, Harvest, Silang, Aani, University of the Philippines – Los Baños and the IPM Group in Payatas.

Together with the floats are street dancers from different schools in Quezon City .

QC parks development and administration department head Engr. Zaldy dela Rosa said   Friday’s festivity support the effort of Mayor Herbert M. Bautista of creating livelihood opportunities for QC residents.

Aside from the float parade, other activities for the Hortikultura include the National Horticulture Congress wherein lectures will be held and the International Trade Show wherein the growers can display their products.

According to event organizers, Hortikultura will be a haven for plant lovers who want to learn and see the beauty and importance of planting as well as to those who are new in the business.

Organizers were also optimistic that through these festivities people can see the  beauty in planting as well as the benefits of not only seeing it as a hobby but as a profitable business.
