3 STUDENTS IN POT SESSION NABBED WITH LADY PUSHER

Three college students learned their lesson the hard way after they were caught with the lady pusher supplying them with shabu in an operation conducted by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Zamboanga City. Instead of spending time inside a classroom, they face the prospect of staying behind bars.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez Jr. identified the arrested lady pusher as Lyn-lyn Sadjani, 24, and the three students as, Jimar Hassan, 22, Al-Raznie Undug, 23, and Abdul Jikiri, 19, all attending the Universidad de Zamboanga.

Sadjani, a 24-year old sales executive selling health products, was busted by agents of PDEA Regional Office 9 after she sold one plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur buyer on October 4, 2011 in her rented apartment along Candido Street, Tetuan, Zamboanga City.  Also recovered from Sadjani were the P300 marked money used in the transaction and one purple pouch bag containing two plastic sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.

Hassan, Undug, and Jikiri, who were in the apartment of Sadjani having a pot session when the buy-bust took place, were likewise arrested by PDEA RO9 agents.

The lady pusher and the students now face charges for violation of sections 5 (selling), 11 (possession), and 13 (possession of dangerous drug during parties, social gatherings or meetings) of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

“The trend is alarming, as more young people are getting involved not only in illegal drug use but in drug pushing as well,” Usec. Gutierrez said.

In view of this, the PDEA Chief emphasized the need for an intensified demand reduction effort, calling on the support of non-government organizations and people/cause- oriented groups for the conduct of   more anti-drug advocacy activities to generate anti-drug awareness among our youth and empower them to say no to the lures of illegal drugs. Evangeline DJ Almenario, Chief, Public Information Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
