The Science Club Advisers Association of the Philippines, Inc. (SCAAP) and AGHAM Party-List jointly recognized outstanding performances of science clubs advisers during the recent SCAAP convention, September 27-30, 2011 in Quezon City.
Awardees were Ms. Ma. Victoria C. Vivo (grand winner), Marcelo H. Del Pilar National High School, City of Malolos; Mr. Rizal M. Vidallo (1st runner- up), Annabu Elementary School, Cavite; Mr. Ronnie P. Guiloy (2nd runner-up), Bambang National High School, Nueva Vizcaya; and Mr. Ronaldo C. Reyes (3rd runner-up), Tabaco National High School, Albay.
The awardees were chosen based on their significant contributions to the advancement of science education through projects undertaken in their respective schools and communities; promotion of science leadership and community service through their conduct of and participation in science and technology-related activities; and motivation of students’ participation in environmental protection and conservation thru co-curricular science-related activities.
The awardees and their respective schools received cash prizes and plaques of recognition from AGHAM Party-List Rep. Angelo B. Palmones, SCAAP National Adviser and, another plaque of recognition from the Science Club Advisers Association of the Philippines.
“We commend the members and officers of SCAAP for their 40 years of untiring effort and commitment to improve science teaching and learning in the country. The organization serves as good instrument in promoting public awareness of science, technology and environment, not only among the school population, but also in their communities,” Palmones said.
