MORE women, especially solo parent-mothers, are set to receive educational and health service benefits from the proceeds of a two-day project of Quezon City Mayor Herbert M. Bautista this October.
Mayor Bautista has urged gun owners, called “Handgunners ng Bayan.” to join and participate in his 1st Invitation Practical Shooting Competition for a Cause to be held on October 1 and 2 at the Camp Karingal Firing Range in Sikatuna Village.
Alay Kay Inay ng Lungsod Quezon Foundation Inc., an organization that caters for the needs of women especially solo parent- mothers, is the beneficiary of the shooting competition project which was organized by the QC government through Mayor Bautista’s chief of staff Mr. Aldrin Cuña as chairman of the project and radio communication head Caloy Verzonilla as match coordinator and finance committee chair. The project is part of the celebration of the city’s 72nd Foundation Anniversary in October.
The foundation is helping women to pursue their education to cope up with the present challenges and gain employment and livelihood. Providing health services such as free Pap smear, breast examination, laboratory examination like ECG, cholesterol check, bun test, glucose, liver test and hemoglobin, dental, rheumatism and arthritis and optical tests are some of the activities being conducted by the foundation for their beneficiaries.
