QC, SLMC TO OFFER FREE CLINIC SERVICES OCT. 9

Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista has urged indigent QC residents to take advantage of the free clinic that will be undertaken jointly by the QC government and St. Luke’s Medical Center on October 9 at QC Hall.

The city government is targeting at least 2,300 indigent QC residents to benefit from the   city’s health program, which highlights the Mayor’s continuing effort to provide a responsive health care program for city residents, especially the poor.

QC street sweepers, traffic enforcers, senior citizens and low-income city hall employees have also been included in the list of program beneficiaries.

During the medical mission, SLMC will mobilize nearly 300 medical personnel to provide beneficiaries with ambulatory, medical, dental and surgical procedures, including diagnostic, ancillary and therapeutic services.

Meanwhile, the city government will be converting QC Hall offices and departments into temporary hospital wards to facilitate the administration of the various medical services that will be offered by the hospital.

There will be an allocation of 600 beneficiaries for medical services; 300 slots available for dental services; 600, for pediatrics; 300 slots for dermatology; 200, for surgery and the remaining medical slots allocated for ophthalmology, EENT and ob-gynecology services.

To date, the health program, which forms part of the city’s yearly celebration of its founding anniversary in October, has already benefitted over 10,000 city residents since its launching in 2004.

“The healing process to poor patients begins with the attitude of doctors, nurses, and other public health practitioners.  There should be the same caring attitude to patients who can afford to pay and those who cannot,” the Mayor said. Precy. PAISO, QC
